ExperienceAdlabs Films Ltd (ADAG GROUP) Jan 2008 to May 2009 . Worked as a Network Operations Manager in the CDL HUB ( Content Distribution and Logistics Hub ) based at DAKC . Films would be digitized at Film City and then moved to our IDC hub at DAKC into our server farm which incuded ISILON data storage system . From here content would be moved to remote locations across India and the US . This network was IP based on MPLS VPN technology and bandwidth was 100 mbps which was to be scaled up to 200 mbps . Day to day activities involved liasing with our ISP ( Reliance Communications ) For Deliveries and SLA and various vendors such as Cisco,Nortel ,Isilon ,Dlink and Hp . As per the Telecomtiger magazine this distribution of digital cinema (300Gb) thru OFC was a global first , by Adlabs Films . finished the pilot project within the specified time frame of 6 months by connecting 7 Adlabs locations for pan india distribution to Adlabs exhibition Theatres . The network was based on metro Ethernet and based on Cisco network elements . Day to day work included running POCs on various vendors products such as data storages , routers ,servers , and installing the same in IDC . Created a Mumbai-USA link as a backbone thru flag telecom, based on STM 4 SDH network by employing Wan Accelerators such as RIVERBRIDGE and EXPAND .STM services were provided by the ISP RCOM Reliance Communications Ltd May 2003 to Jan 2008 Worked as a Support Manager , Network-IT Reliance RWORLD , ASCG unit . This was basically a digital content factory , designed by me , where content would be ingested thru various sources such as C /KU band antennas / and then captured on a Pinnacle based Pc capture PC and then edited on a Edit PC . There were in all 22 edit suites connected on a OFC network designed by me . This was connected to RCOMM RDN for wireless uplink to handsets . Had also set up NNOC for the working network for 80 users for the content factory , where vendors such as Hungama , Abuzz could pump in finished products such as rintones / crbt content , remotely from across India and abroad (Uk , USA , FRANCE) .FTP servers were installed and maintained /administered by me Installed 22 nos ENVIVIO video servers for transmitting live news channels to the handsets via RWORLD. This was installed in the video NNOC at J Block ,DAKC Zee Telefilms 2001 - 2003 Worked a Customer Support Manager managing a network consisting of 200 pcs , windows based .Managed a team of 5 engineers and reported to AVP IT services . Ensured that maximum uptime is maintained and co-ordinated with various vendor for Logistics involving spare parts etc . Also maintained the network for ZEE NEWS mubai Bureau .The network consisted of 64 kbps vsat , studio equipments such as DEKKO 200 post production systems, DFS 500 switchers ,Sony BVS 2000 switchers , Teleprompters . In this environment 24x7x365 support was provided. Also introduced faster hardware based mpeg2 converter for transferring content to Noida for uplink. Also maintained cpu based HI MATIC systems . TISL ( Tata -Ibm ) Jan 1997 to Nov 2000 Worked as a network engineer in india's First FMS services ( Facility Managed Services ) offered by IBM . The network was NT based and there were 700 pcs in the building . were maintaining HP routers a , client workstations (IBM PCs).WAN links were X.25 based and voice links were based on IDNX systems . Day to day work involved maintaining the network for optimum performance. Patni Computer Systems (PCS) 1995 - 1997 Worked as a territory Manager and looked after a certain area of customers along with a team of engineers . Also ensured that revenue collection from AMCs would be smooth By giving good service to customers . Here worked on NT and Novell based networks . Worked in the PC factory at Sivassa in the QC dept ensuring that All hardwares put in the Pc matched the HAL ( Hardware Abstraction Layer ) of various operating systems such as windows and unix . Lauren Info tech 1990 to 1995 Worked as a Senior Engineer for a leading IBM -Acer dealer of Mumbai . Worked in the warranty department for spares movements from IBM -Acer . OSs used were Novell / Windows . Had large number of ISA /EISA based servers installed for the software development markets. CIL ( Chougule Industries Ltd ) 1987 to 1990 Worked as a service supervisor in the PC division .This company sold 268 /386 based Systems ,CHI 2 (Chi square) brand and was looking after the service department along with a team of service engineers . This was the time when diskless workstations were used with remote boot features built into the enet cards.
